ABOUT LUCONI
Exported worldwide, the Luconi brand is one of the industry's leading pressure fit systems. Its Osso range, used by a number of leading blue-chip companies and retail outlets, offers high quality design-led glass screens, partitions, working walls and state-of-the-art shelving, all with optional bespoke accessories. Its effortless pressure-fit installation divides space with style and can be used with wood, ceramic or marble floors, without the need for drilling.
Launched 18 months ago, Luconi's Simple range is designed to compliment the Osso. It offers a higher sound-rating of glass partition with a choice of either sliding or opening aluminium framed doors. With its strong lines and elegant aesthetics, Simple will enhance any area.
Both the ranges can be seen at our London showroom.
The factory is in the beautiful town of Ancona in Northern Italy and is surrounded by vineyards and spectacular views of the surrounding countryside and coastline. A visit to the factory is to be highly recommended...

THE OSSO SYSTEM
The whole of the Osso range is manufactured in extruded aluminium which is 100 percent recyclable.
The unique bearing bar works on a floor to ceiling pressure fit system: the bars are put in to position and then simply tightened up to the ceiling. The glass is then hung from the Osso knuckle joints. The simplicity of the fixing method ensures fast and easy construction and, if desired, relocation.
The bearing bar comprises 4 components:
1. The top and bottom 100mm diameter disk foot which attaches directly to the ceiling,
2. The threaded internal adjustable tightening spindle,
3. The Osso foot with glass holding prongs,
4. The middle bar which runs between top and bottom foot assembly.
The exterior of the bar has an integrated ‘fin’ both to strengthen the bar and to provide multiple height fixing points for the wide range of accessories.
The standard version of the bearing bar can be used on all ceilings up to 3.5m high. Ceilings above this height are still viable but may need additional cross-bracing or a permanent fixing.
Where there is a suspended ceiling we simply put a ceiling jack between the back of the ceiling tile and the original slab ceiling above.
Shelves
There are a wide range of widths, depths and finishes of shelves available which include:
Ribbed Aluminium in 4 depths: 22cm, 33.5cm, 37cm and 52cm
Glass shelves – 22cm and 37cm deep
Painted aluminium display / system shelf – 90cm wide x 30cm deep
Acrylic system shelves – 90cm wide x 30cm deep
Wood Veneer or laminate – 90cm wide x 22cm or 37cm deep
In total there are over 50 shelf and storage possibilities in wood, glass, acrylic and aluminium.

Osso Systems applications
Walls
Walls are created by hanging panels on the aluminium bearing bars. Panels can be up to a maximum thickness of 10mm and can be constructed of any material, including glass, acrylic, wood or laminate, with the sole proviso that 4 holes can be made in the panel in order to fix it.
Luconi offer a wide range of panel finishes including: fully or part frosted glass, coloured glass, or the new painted glass system which has the chosen colour painted on the back of the panel leaving a mirror type finish to the front. There is also a wide range of acrylic panels available.
Panels sizes are factory calculated and include a tolerance of 3mm between panels (when joining) and a 10mm tolerance on both the top and bottom.
For example a 2m wide x 3m high panel run will be made up of 2No panels both at 2980mm high x 992mm wide.
These tolerances are to ensure the panels will allow for any unevenness in the floor or ceiling.
The Osso system offers the same sound rating as any other single glazed partition system (approx 30-35db).
For information on the osso doors, please click on the link below.
Accessories
One of the major strengths of the Osso system over competitors is its wide range of stylish accessories and include Shelving, Storage boxes and Plasma Screen fixing.
These are fixed to the bars via the multiple height fixing point holes which are in the ‘fin’ on the back of all bars as standard. Thus giving the user total flexibility to add remove or adjust the height of all accessories during the life of the product.
As the system has evolved the different styles and finishes have been in constant development, the factory is always open to new ideas and accepts requests as a challenge to be designed and produced.
The standard accessories currently available include:
Shelves – please see next page
Storage boxes - In addition to the shelves Luconi have now developed a range of system hung storage boxes.
These are available in Veneer, laminate or painted lacquered finish (wide range of colours) and offer flipper door or drawers for storage.
In total there are over 50 shelf and storage possibilities in wood, glass, acrylic and aluminium.
For full details on accessories download the pdf file or go to the image gallery section.
Osso box
Due to its unique half top foot, the Osso system enables any shape having at least 3 walls to be freestanding and furthermore to be of any height.
This system is ideal where workplaces have exceptionally high ceilings. It can also be used to create free standing offices or meeting rooms in the middle of a work area.
The system works by using a continuous aluminium sliding door track to run around the top of the panels, into which fix the tops of the bearing bars. This holds all the bars rigid and also allow a sliding door to be used to close off the room.
At the bottom there are rigid corner brackets to hold the lower feet together. Once again these fix directly onto the Osso knuckle joint.
As you would expect, the free standing structures are extremely quick to construct and are fully demountable with the use of only a few basic tools.
Doors
The Osso system offers both hinged and sliding doors. With the standard hinged door the aluminium bearing bar is visually identical to the other bars. However it has the addition of two locating nipples positioned at the top and bottom of the foot. These are attached to the ceiling and floor in order to prevent movement as the bar constantly pivots. There is also a locking nut on the threaded spindle.
Hinged door
Visually the bar is the same as the standard but has two locating nipples into the ceiling and floor top and bottom to possible movement as door is pivoted. It is also available with a gas action floor fixing box for self closing.
The hinged door has the option of 3 standard door handles and catches all of which are lockable.
Sliding door
The track can be installed on the bearing bars or directly onto a wall so the doors can be used with other systems.
The sliding door sits on a aluminium track which is directly attached to the Osso knuckle joint and runs across the top of 2 or 3 bearing bars depending on the length of the track and width of sliding door. At the bottom there is a nylon U channel runner which is attached to edge of the standard panel (no drilling required) and guides the door.
OSSO APPLICATIONS
The strong yet slender structure of the Osso system organizes, furnishes and border space.
The system offers partitions, working walls, wardrobe facilities, shelving, storage units as well as desks and tables, drawer units and containers.
Its flexibility allows homes, offices, shops and public spaces to be divided according to their needs.

Faceted Panels
The Osso bar allows straight glass panels to be angled up to a maximum of 15 degress to create a faceted glass curve. The narrower the individual panel the tighter the curve that can be created.
Osso's aluminium bar allows total flexibility, if you move or change the design of the office the curved partition wall can be straightened out to create a straight run.
Retail
Osso is ideally suited to the fashion and visual merchandising market as its strong yet slender structure of the glass partitioning, aesthetically organises, furnishes and determines space. Its total flexibility allows areas to be divided in a myriad of possibilities with the added advantage of in-built panels, doors and shelves.
The unique Osso range works by pressure fit and requires no drilling whatsoever, this enabling regular relocation and redesign.
Domestic
The Osso system flexibility allows a lot of applications for the home: bathrooms, kitchens, living rooms...
MANIFESTATION
We offer a full design service for glass manifestation - 'dress up' our glass partitioning from minimum legal manifestation to a very elaborate design. Please consult our image gallery for inspiration or talk to us.
Plasma hanging bracket
One of the most popular accessories is the plasma support bracket – this is a 90cm wide bracket which fixes to the bearing bar fin and allows ANY plasma screens to be hung off the Osso system.
The bracket will support a maximum of 40Kg and as the weight is downwards it can be mounted on the standard Osso pressure fit bar, again no drilling or permanent fixing required!
For full details of accessories please see Image gallery or download the technical specification pdf file.
THE SIMPLE SYSTEM
'Simple' is the brand new innovative system recently launched by Luconi.
It differs from the Osso range in that it offers a high sound rating, the glass is 10mm thick made of up 2 sheets of laminated 5mm glass with sound insulation between.
The glass is held in an aluminium channel on all sides which can be chamfered to create any angle. Doors are hinged or sliding units in full height glass with aluminium frames and an integral lock.
FURNITURE
Also included in Luconi’s range is a stylish range of free standing furniture items.
These have been developed to go side by side with the partition systems and carry a common design theme throughout.

Plantation Square, London: Brokers office
On this project Osso was used to separate the breakout area from the main workplace. As noise was not an issue, the solid panels were only required to be 2.2m high with extension bars used for the remainder.
Guildford: Communications company
Osso was used to create two meeting rooms and a reception area. The Osso pressure fit system was ideal as there was a stone floor and any other system would have meant drilling into it.
Victoria, London: Head office for Global Healthcare company
Osso was chosen by the architect Evata to create a large oval room in the middle of the workspace.
Shoreditch, London: Private Flats
Osso was chosen by the architects Child Graddon Lewis for this private development in Shorditch. They separated living and sleeping areas with a double sliding door, the tracks were fixed directly to the walls.
Manchester: Yell.com new call centre
The Osso range was selected by architect ODP to provide glass screens for Yell.com’s new call centre in Manchester. A special fitting had to be developed to allow white boards to be hung but also easily removed
Maidstone, Kent: visitor center
The office space was divided into individual offices and meeting rooms using the osso system to create a light, airy environment. A mid height manifestation was then applied to offer some privacy to the offices.
Clerkenwell, London
Warrington: Furniture company HQ
Luconi’s Simple and Osso glass partitions were used to create, boardroom and presentation rooms on the ground floor and waiting area and cellular offices on the first floor.
Bishopsgate House
The osso system enables you to create a light, open workspace and accentuate clean lines. Its unique pressure fit means no drilling into your nice wooden floor is necessary and walls can be easily moved.
Offices in Hackney
Osso was chosen for its ability to work varying ceiling heights and avoid costly construction of bulkheads around the lighting and cable trays. The client formed two meeting rooms with sliding glass doors. Glass finished with decorative film manifestation.

THE OSSO SYSTEM
How does the aluminium bar fix to the ceiling?
The Osso bearing bar works by way of a pressure fit from floor to ceiling, to install the bar simply hold it vertical and tighten the top and bottom screw adjustment to lock into position.
Will Osso work with suspended and false ceilings?
Yes – we simply block behind the suspended ceiling using a basic adjustable ceiling jack and tighten the osso bar as normal.
What is the maximum ceiling height the Osso bars will go to?
The standard bars are suitable upto a height of 3180mm. The system will go higher but some extra horizontal bracing may be required.
What is the purpose of the fin on the back of the bar?
The fin is mainly there as a strengthening device for the bar, but is an integral part of the system allowing shelves or work surfaces to be fixed to the bars.
How does the self supporting system work?
Any size run of panels can be free standing so long as when assembled the angles will support each other. The aluminium bar is no longer acting as a pressure fit to the ceiling but the panels are held together by use of an aluminium top track which goes completely around the top of the panels.
How do the pivoting doors work?
The door bar only differs from the other bars by having two small nipples top and bottom, which need to be located in the ceiling and floor. This is necessary in order to ensure that the door cannot go out of vertical alignment.
How do the sliding doors work?
The sliding door is hung on the top aluminium runner and has a small plastic guide which fixes to the bottom of the adjacent panel. Thus giving a very minimalist look.
What is the maximum door size possible?
1200mm wide for a standard ceiling height of 2500mm. It is possible in some special cases to go slightly wider.
Is there a maximum panel size?
Yes, the system is designed to take a maximum of 1200mm wide panels. Maximum height 3000mm, maximum thickness 12mm.
What colour glass can I have?
Osso produce a blue, red and green as standard but also offer a painted finish which is heat sealed into the glass at the toughening stage.
Can I have my company logo etched in to the glass?
Yes most certainly – as with all glass panel systems you have the choice to apply a frosted film with computer cup lettering, or have the logo permanently etched in the glass by the factory.
What are the normal tolerance gaps top and bottom?
Normally we leave a tolerance of 10mm at both the top and bottom. This is to allow for any unevenness in either the floor or ceiling.
How do the panels join together?
The panels join together top and bottom on the ‘foot’ detail – therefore in a typical run you will have end panels and middle panels.
Is it possible to silicon joint the gaps?
Yes, certainly this can be done. If also required the top and bottom gap can be closed by use of a aluminium channel.
What is the sound rating of Osso glass partitions?
The standard sound rating is exactly the same as all other single glazed partition systems in the region of 30-35db.
